Made strictly following the formula in “Divine Blue Water, a Contamination - Purifying Smoke Offering” by the Great Master Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), more than 100 precious natural herbs and 1000 other ingredients includes white and red sandalwood, Tibetan saffron, nutmeg, other precious aromatic medicinal herbs and blessing substances. This incense helped the Tibetan King Trisong Detsen (742-797) recovered from his illness. Sakya lineage carries the unbroken oral lineage from Guru Rinpoche’s time until today, which makes them as one of the most authentic source of this special incense. This incense is made by a traditional incense workshop located in Kham, Tibet.
Sakya Monastery is the head monastery of the Sakya school, located in Tsang province in Central Tibet, founded by Khön Könchok Gyalpo in 1073. It is named after the white-coloured or pale (skya) earth (sa).
