Handmade by practitioners at Larung Gar according to the incense-making instructions in the seven-branch offering section of the Lama Gongdu generation-stage teachings. Natural ingredients include amber, Dolomiaea souliei, clove, spikenard, Cinnamomum camphora, and white cardamom.

Larung Gar, a center for the Five Traditional Sciences and Higher Buddhist Studies in Sichuan, was established by Khenpo Jikmé Phuntsok in 1980.
