Kadam-Style Stupa in Pure Brass - Altar Shrine Offering Representing Buddha's Wisdom
This Kadam-style stupa is crafted from pure brass and perfectly proportioned. Representing the mind and wisdom of the Buddha, this stupa serves as an essential object of veneration on the altar and a perfect offering to a teacher. The Kadam-style stupa is characterized by a simple yet elegant top with a parasol and thirteen descending discs. The center is adorned with a square balcony-like structure and a distinctive round bell-shaped bottom, all resting on a round double lotus base.
A unique feature of the Kadam stupa is its round bell-shaped bottom. It is commonly believed that the Kadam stupa was introduced to Tibet by Atisha and the Kadam Tradition. The Kadam stupa is based on the eighth and final of the Eight Great Stupas, symbolizing the parinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha. Typically, Kadam stupas are between eight and ten inches tall and are used as ritual objects on shrines or during the elaborate mandala offering ritual.
