Sakya Sapoe Chenmo Incense Stick - Sakya Monastery, Tibet

Sakya Sapoe Chenmo Incense is made in Sakya Monastery, the main seat of Sakya lineage in Tibet. Following the recipe composed by the third of the five Sakya patriarchs, Jetsün Drakpa Gyaltsen (1147-1216) who wrote an explanation of Tibetan medicine and diagnosis known as King’s Treasury, this incense is made with more than 30 types of medicinal herbs including Tibetan Saffron. Since then this incense was used by successive Sakya Trizin, especially during the time of Drogön Chögyal Phagpa, this incense helped the second king of Mongolian Empire recovered from his illness. This incense among with Sakya Divine Blue Water Incense are the two incenses from Sakya that famous for its power of healing and purification. This incense also available as incense cone.

Sakya Monastery is the head monastery of the Sakya school, located in Tsang province in Central Tibet, founded by Khön Könchok Gyalpo in 1073. It is named after the white-coloured or pale (skya) earth (sa).
